It’s so important to take care of yourself. Doing things that spa services offer like skin care or Botox will help you not only look better but feel better about yourself which is the most important thing. As women it’s so easy to follow your instinct and nurture and take care of everyone around you including your husband, children and friends but when is the last time you did something for yourself? If you will take time out even just once a month and get something done to make yourself feel refreshed and rejuvenated you will be better able to care for those that need you. This might sound a little scary but it’s actually very relaxing. A chemical peel is done on the face or neck or hands in order to improve the appearance of the skin. The chemical solution that is applied to the skin will exfoliate the skin and eventually peel off. The skin that is underneath will be smoother, more even and less wrinkled than the old skin. A chemical peel is completely safe and removes damaged outer layers of skin. Dermatologists like to use chemical peels to diminish signs of aging. It is a very controlled method with minimal side effects. The only downfall is that your face may have the appearance of peeling or being dry for a few days following the chemical peel treatment. However, once the old skin peels off, the new skin will be brighter and better than ever.

Massages
Going to get a massage once a month is not only an hour to yourself every month but it actually has medical benefits. Massaging your back or any area of your body will release the buildup of toxins that busyness and stress can cause. Whether you are a stay at home mom or a career woman, no doubt have your own basket of tension stored up in your body from your stressful life. Getting a massage gives you an opportunity to release that stress, take a nap, relax and refresh yourself for the next month. If you have intense stress knots you may want to get massages more often until those knots can be released and then you can go down to once a month.

Facials
Facials are known as a beauty treatment for the face. It is a skin treatment that cleanses, exfoliates and nourishes your facial skin in order to help it be clear and well hydrated. Most facials consist of cleansing your face from leftover make up or impurities. After this an exfoliating solution will be applied to your skin. Once the exfoliation is complete and rinsed off a mask may be applied depending on your skin type. This will be left on for a period of time until your skin care technician clears it off and readies your face to be massaged with lotion. It is a very relaxing and rejuvenating process. The room is usually kept fairly dark and quiet except for soothing music, much like a regular massage.

Pedicures
Pedicures are probably the most common thing for women to do for themselves. They usually only need to be done monthly which is why they are a perfect choice. A good pedicure consists of shaping of the toenails, removal of the cuticles and calluses, exfoliating, a good massage and a pretty nail polish application. A manicure can be added to that but if you are the type of woman that uses your hands a lot, your manicure may not last as long as your pedicure. Many women actually find manicures to be frustrating because you cannot use your hands the entire time. However, this may be what you need in order to stop working and focus on yourself.

It’s important to make sure that you thinking about yourself. Otherwise you may just end up frustrated and resentful of your life. Caring for others is a noble and admirable activity but you can only do it effectively if you are taking care of yourself first. This is why, just once a month you should get out of your own bubble for one hour and do something nice for yourself.
